Describe what actually happens at your published address
Establish the address's function from real business records, then describe only the activities and access that exist there. A correspondence address does not establish inventory storage, laboratory work, returns handling or visitor access. Read the address together with its heading, map, photographs and nearby promises. Separately, WooCommerce describes its store-address setting as the seller's physical location used for tax and shipping calculations; that setting is not proof of a public facility or an instruction to publish it on the homepage.
For: A research-only merchant checking whether its contact page, location labels and storefront imagery accurately describe the premises behind a published address.
Start with the function the business can substantiate
List what the location actually does for this business. Correspondence, administration, storage, dispatch, returns handling and visitor access are different functions. More than one may occur at a location, but an address alone establishes none of them. Identify the business record or responsible operator that supports each function you intend to describe.
Use the relevant agreement, operating record or confirmation of access rights rather than a photograph of the building as the evidence. A right to receive correspondence does not establish a right to invite visitors or receive returned parcels. A supplier's or fulfillment partner's premises should not be described as a facility operated by your business unless that relationship and description are supported.
Record limitations alongside the function. If visits or returns are not offered at the published address, the surrounding page should not direct people there for those purposes. If you cannot confirm whether a particular activity is supported, leave that claim unresolved instead of turning a contact label into an assertion about operations.
Read the impression created around the address
Open each public surface carrying the address and record the exact label beside it. Contact copy, the About page, a footer, a map link and shipping or returns instructions can describe the same location differently. Compare the visible language and images with the documented function. The question is what a visitor would reasonably understand the business to be offering at that location.
A warehouse or laboratory label makes an operational claim beyond providing a way to contact the merchant. Directions, visit invitations or collection instructions can also suggest access the business has not established. Retain the actual text or a reference to the visible page, and name the specific unsupported implication. Do not treat a consistent spelling of the address as confirmation that those implications are accurate.
The FTC's truth-in-advertising guidance states the general expectation that advertising, including website claims, be truthful, nonmisleading and substantiated. It does not determine that a particular address label is lawful or that your business has met every disclosure obligation. Use it as the basis for checking claims against records, not as a certificate for revised wording.
Keep public wording separate from calculation settings
WooCommerce's general settings documentation says the store address is the seller's physical location and is used for tax and shipping calculations. It does not say that the setting is automatically printed on the homepage. Inspect the public pages to establish what visitors see, and inspect the actual setting separately to understand the configured location.
Do not change the calculation address just to make it match a preferred public contact address. First identify why the current seller location was configured and which calculations depend on it. If the configured location appears inaccurate, have the responsible store maintainer and relevant adviser resolve that question using the real business arrangement. A copy correction and a calculation change are different tasks.
Likewise, do not publish a private residential address or identity document merely because it exists in administrative records. This guide does not decide which address a jurisdiction, contract or provider requires you to disclose. Keep any such requirement as a separate item with its actual source and an owner for clarification.
Correct the implication and confirm the public result
Write the correction against the precise mismatch. A label that overstates the activity needs wording supported by the actual function. A page inviting an unavailable visit or return needs its directions corrected as well. Check the map caption and imagery in the same pass so that the remaining presentation does not repeat the earlier implication.
After an authorized edit, open the affected public pages and compare them with the approved wording. Keep the earlier observation and the correction date in the working record. This confirms what those pages now say; it does not verify a facility, alter the business's actual operations or establish provider approval.
For a Prism website-review consultation, provide the public URLs and a concise description of the function and conflicting claim. The assigned review scope can consider business disclosures together with the surrounding storefront content. Confirm the pages, responsibilities, fees and terms before work begins, and arrange any necessary private evidence exchange separately from the public form.
Address-function record
Complete this from the published page and records the business already holds. Use public URLs and internal evidence references, not private addresses or identity documents. An unsupported function or invitation is a specific correction to resolve; a discrepancy with a calculation setting needs a separate investigation.
Worksheet entries are not submitted by Prism’s worksheet and are not saved by the site. Use record types, availability, anonymized observations, or match/mismatch results. Do not enter government identifiers, customer names or addresses, customer messages, receipt-access links, card or bank details, passwords, or keys. Send sensitive documents only through the provider’s verified secure channel.

Limits
This guide does not determine which address a law, provider or contract requires, or whether a particular mailing or registered-address arrangement is acceptable.
WooCommerce's seller-location setting supports calculations; it does not establish public access, laboratory operations, warehouse ownership or processing approval.
Do not publish private residential details, leases, identity documents or credentials to substantiate a storefront claim, and keep them out of the public consultation form.
WooCommerce general settings — checked 2026-09-21. The store address is the seller's physical location and is used for tax and shipping calculations. The documentation does not establish that the address is published on the homepage or that it identifies a public facility.
FTC truth in advertising — checked 2026-09-28. Advertising across media, including websites, must be truthful, nonmisleading and appropriately substantiated. This does not establish that a specific address description is lawful or sufficient for a merchant's disclosure obligations.
