The provider payout amount and bank credit are in different currencies
Match the payout and bank credit by their references, then keep each amount beside its currency. Different currencies cannot be subtracted to measure a shortage. Find the record of the actual conversion, including its input and output amounts, and identify any deduction separately. Only a difference left after that documented bridge is an unexplained remainder. If the conversion record is missing, the cause and amount of any shortage remain unestablished.
For: An owner or finance contact at a research-only merchant comparing a provider payout with a bank credit in another currency.
Begin with the provider payout entry and the bank credit you believe received it. Keep the payout reference, bank reference, dates, amount and currency from each. A similar number or nearby date is a lead for matching, not evidence that the entries are the same transfer. If a bank credit combines transfers, identify the component references before applying this one-payout worksheet.
The starting amount is the payout shown by the provider, not the gross customer sales that contributed to its balance. Fees or adjustments already included before the payout must not be subtracted again on the journey from payout to bank. Preserve the original records and describe precisely which two amounts you are comparing.
Keep the amount and its unit inseparable
A currency symbol alone may be ambiguous. Copy the currency code from the record, along with whether you are reading a displayed money amount or a raw API value. Stripe documents amounts in currency minor units, with zero-decimal currencies and special exceptions. Do not divide every exported integer by the same factor or move a decimal point until two totals look alike.
Stripe distinguishes payment-related currencies from settlement arrangements. Its additional-settlement documentation describes conversion into the default currency unless additional settlement currencies are enabled. Payouts in another currency require matching bank-account arrangements and may involve fees. These are possible documented currency steps on Stripe, not evidence that a particular step occurred on your payout. For another provider, use its own record definitions.
A payout in one currency and a bank credit in another establish a unit difference. They do not identify who converted the money, which rate was applied, or whether a separate charge was taken. Those facts require the conversion or bank advice for this transfer.
Build the bridge from actual conversion records
For each recorded conversion, retain the amount and currency entering it, the amount and currency leaving it, its date, the party named on the record and any stated rate. Record the rate direction if one is supplied. Use the documented output as the next step in the comparison. A current exchange quote cannot replace the rate or output applied to an earlier transfer.
Keep separately stated deductions with their own currencies and references. Establish whether a deduction is already included in the conversion output or bank credit before subtracting it. If the record shows only a net converted amount, do not invent a separate conversion fee from the gap between that amount and an online rate.
Once the documented bridge reaches the bank-credit currency, compare the resulting net amount with the posted credit in that same currency. If those amounts agree, the apparent shortage is explained within the records compared. If they differ, retain the difference in that currency and list the missing or disputed step. If the bridge never reaches a documented same-currency amount, leave the numerical remainder uncalculated.
Direct the remaining question to the missing record
When the provider confirms the outgoing amount but the bank has not identified its incoming conversion, ask the bank for the conversion or credit advice tied to that reference. When the outgoing payout amount or a provider deduction is unclear, ask the provider to identify that entry and the applicable written term. State the mismatch without calling it retained funds or an improper fee.
For a consultation about this processing question, use Prism’s research-only payment-processing service. Summarize the website, products, currencies and unresolved step; keep bank statements and customer records out of the public inquiry. Any reconciliation assistance, responsibilities, fees and terms must be agreed before work. Follow-up is by email, and the request does not book an appointment, buy a service or submit a processing application.
Payout-to-bank currency bridge
Complete one bridge for a payout and its matched bank credit. Use references to records held privately, not full bank details. A missing conversion leaves the remainder unknown; matching native numbers in different currencies does not close the comparison.
Worksheet entries are not submitted by Prism’s worksheet and are not saved by the site. Use record types, availability, anonymized observations, or match/mismatch results. Do not enter government identifiers, customer names or addresses, customer messages, receipt-access links, card or bank details, passwords, or keys. Send sensitive documents only through the provider’s verified secure channel.

Evidence to retain
How to interpret it
Your record
Transfer match
Evidence to retainPayout reference, bank reference and dates from both entries.
How to interpret itUnconfirmed identity prevents a reliable amount comparison.
Provider payout amount and currency
Evidence to retainThe payout entry’s original amount, currency code and displayed or raw-unit format.
How to interpret itUse the payout amount, not gross sales; do not deduct upstream fees twice.
Bank credit amount and currency
Evidence to retainThe posted credit and its currency code from the bank record.
How to interpret itPreserve the bank’s native amount before any comparison.
Recorded conversion
Evidence to retainActual input and output amounts with currencies, date, named converting party and any stated rate direction.
How to interpret itFollow each documented conversion to the next unit; an online quote does not fill a missing step.
Separately stated deduction
Evidence to retainDeduction reference, amount, currency and whether the displayed output already includes it.
How to interpret itSubtract only where the record establishes that it has not already been netted.
Unexplained remainder
Evidence to retainDocumented net amount in the bank-credit currency compared with the posted credit.
How to interpret itCalculate only in a shared currency; otherwise record the missing evidence instead of a shortage.
Next evidence request
Evidence to retainName the provider or bank and the particular reference or conversion advice needed.
How to interpret itAsk about the unresolved step, without assigning an unsupported cause.

Limits
Stripe currency documentation describes Stripe products, not another provider’s settlement rules or this merchant’s eligibility.
No exchange rate, fee amount or right to recover funds is inferred here. The provider and bank control their records and payout actions.
Keep bank details, card data, passwords and customer records out of the worksheet and public consultation message.
Stripe supported currencies — checked 2026-09-29. Currency and amount-unit distinctions matter; API amounts use minor units with documented zero-decimal currencies and exceptions. Currency support does not establish account eligibility.
Stripe settlement in additional currencies — checked 2026-09-21. Incoming currencies convert to the default currency unless additional settlement currencies are enabled. Additional-currency payouts need matching bank arrangements and may involve fees; this does not identify a conversion or deduction on an unseen payout.
Prism solutions — checked 2026-09-21. Published help includes processing preparation and provider website questions. Requested assistance requires agreed scope, fees and terms; provider and bank payout decisions remain theirs.
Prism contact — checked 2026-09-21. The inquiry asks for the website, products and question, excludes sensitive payment and customer records, and receives email follow-up without booking, purchasing or submitting a processing application.
