Costs and account terms

The linked terms changed while we were evaluating a quote

Retain the original dated quote, the referenced terms you actually captured during evaluation, the later version you observed and the provider's answer about applicability. Keep each document's displayed version date separate from the date you retrieved it. A stable URL is not a preserved version, and a changed webpage does not by itself establish which terms govern your offer. Compare the affected provision in context and ask the provider to identify the applicable document set and effective date before you rely on the comparison.

For: A research-only merchant evaluating a real processing offer whose linked terms have changed during the decision.

Preserve the offer as a connected set of records

Start with the quote itself: its reference, issue date, named business, services, country and any stated validity period. Keep the original file or message rather than overwriting it with a revised offer. Record the links it incorporates or tells you to review, including any separate schedule or service addendum actually named.

For each linked document you retain, record its exact URL, title, displayed version or last-modified date, retrieval date and where your private copy is stored. If the document states an effective date, record that separately. These dates describe different events; the day you opened a page does not become its effective date.

If you never saved the earlier terms, say so. Keep any genuine earlier correspondence or attachment that exists and ask the provider for the version it referenced. A memory of a sentence does not establish the contents of the missing document. Preserve the later copy as evidence of what you saw later, without relabeling it as the quote-date version.

Compare the changed provision with its surrounding terms

Read the changed section alongside definitions, regional headings and cross-references that affect it. In your register, identify the earlier wording, the later wording and the practical question the difference raises. Keep unchanged parts of the document available so the comparison does not depend on an isolated screenshot.

Stripe's Services Agreement illustrates why one link is not the entire offer. It combines general, service and incorporated terms, and regional terms depend on the account country. Its document-priority provisions also contain exceptions. That structure makes the specific country and service material to a Stripe comparison; it does not establish the structure of another provider's agreement.

Use the comparison to identify a decision input that has changed: what service is included, which obligation is described, or which fee provision the quote references. Do not silently carry a conclusion from the earlier version into a comparison based on the later one. If the change has no identified connection to your quoted service, record that connection as unconfirmed.

Ask which version applies without deciding the legal effect

Stripe's general terms contain a provision for posted amendments. Its fee-change provisions and general agreement-amendment provisions are distinct, so a notice period associated with changed fees must not be treated as the rule for every document update. The recorded Stripe version was labeled last modified September 28, 2026; that label alone does not answer an individual merchant's applicability question.

Send the provider the quote reference, the relevant document URLs, the two observed version dates and the section that changed. Ask it to identify the general, service, incorporated and regional documents it intends to apply to this offer, together with any stated effective date and any revised quote. Keep the answer with the versions it identifies.

The answer records the provider's position. It does not independently decide enforceability, retroactive effect, whether acceptance occurred or whether a right has changed. If the business decision depends on one of those legal questions, take the actual document set and correspondence to qualified counsel. Do not resolve it by choosing whichever version is more favorable.

Keep the unresolved version visible in the decision

A useful offer record should let another authorized reader reconstruct what was quoted, what terms were available when examined, what changed and what the provider subsequently said. If applicability is still unanswered, label the affected comparison item unresolved. A complete record of uncertainty is more accurate than a polished comparison that assumes a version.

When a provider supplies a revised offer, add it to the history and identify the version used for your decision. Preserve any actual acceptance record separately; recording a decision in this worksheet does not itself accept or reject the offer.

For a Prism processing consultation, summarize the research-only business, website and document-version question. Scope, fees and terms for requested assistance are discussed before work; the provider decides its account terms. The public contact form is for that summary, not private quotes or customer records. Email follow-up does not accept an offer or submit a processing application.

Offer document version register

Use one register for one actual offer and repeat the linked-document rows for each referenced document. Preserve private copies separately. Enter observed dates exactly as labeled; when an earlier version is unavailable, record that gap instead of recreating it. Finish with the provider's applicability answer or an explicit unresolved question.

Worksheet entries are not submitted by Prism’s worksheet and are not saved by the site. Use record types, availability, anonymized observations, or match/mismatch results. Do not enter government identifiers, customer names or addresses, customer messages, receipt-access links, card or bank details, passwords, or keys. Send sensitive documents only through the provider’s verified secure channel.

Limits

  • This is a document-preservation and comparison method, not legal advice about acceptance, enforceability, notice sufficiency or retroactive effect.
  • Stripe's agreement structure and amendment provisions apply within Stripe's actual services, regional terms and agreements; they are not rules for another provider.
  • Do not put private proposals, identity documents, card data, bank details or customer records into the worksheet's public context or the consultation form.

  • Stripe Services Agreement general terms — checked 2026-09-29. Stripe combines general, service and incorporated terms, with regional terms depending on account country. Section 11.8 permits posted amendments; fee-change notice rules do not govern every agreement change. Section 11.9 addresses document priority with exceptions. Actual agreements must be read; no legal effect for an unseen quote is established.
  • Prism solutions — checked 2026-09-21. Public support covers storefront review, card-processing preparation and help with a provider's website questions. Scope, fees and terms are discussed before work; the provider decides eligibility and account terms.
  • Prism contact — checked 2026-09-21. The form asks for the website, products and question, excluding card details, passwords and customer records. Follow-up is by email. A request does not book an appointment, purchase a service or submit a processing application.
