Check the confirmation after a checkout change

Use one real order placed after the change. Open that order and the message the store sent for it, and compare them field by field. WooCommerce's processing-order email is the customer notification that contains order details after payment, if that notification is enabled. Its subject, heading, and additional content can insert the site title, site address, order date, and order number. A settings preview or a test send is not that comparison. A message that never arrives is a delivery problem, not proof the content is wrong. Describe the work you need. Prism will confirm scope, responsibilities, fees, and terms before work begins.

For: An owner or authorized representative of a research-use-only peptide business that changed checkout and needs the order email to match the order.

Start from a real order, not a preview

The question is whether the redesigned checkout still produces the right message for an order the store actually kept. Choose one order created after the change. Record its order number and the time it was placed. Then open the message that was sent for that order, not the sample in the email settings screen.

WooCommerce lets you preview a template and send a test email from the email editing screen. Those are checks of the template. They do not prove what a later order's message contained. If you have no real order yet, the content check has not started.

Which message WooCommerce says it sends

WooCommerce's processing-order notification is sent to the customer and contains order details after payment. The completed-order email is sent when the order is marked completed and usually indicates shipment. The refunded-order email is sent when the order is refunded and has separate settings for a partial and a full refund. The order-details email is sent manually from the order screen. After a checkout change, name which of these you received before you compare its contents.

No processing email is expected while the order remains pending payment. WooCommerce says that status means no payment has been made, and its troubleshooting guide says no email is triggered. If the order is pending, fix the payment status question first. Comparing a missing email with the order will only show that the pending rule applied.

The notification has to be enabled. An enabled processing email should be generated when the order reaches processing. If it is enabled and the paid order produced no message, WooCommerce points to a conflict or to the site's mail function. That is a different job from checking the words inside a message you did receive.

Compare the fields you can trace

WooCommerce documents these placeholders for the email subject, heading, and additional content: the site title, the site address, the order date, and the order number. Additional content is text you add below the main content. The processing email is also described as containing order details. The document does not publish a fixed list of every line inside those order details, so the comparison uses the order on the screen and the message in front of you.

For the order number, order date, product lines, quantities, and totals, write where the order shows the value and where the delivered message shows it. If the message has a value the order does not, or the order has a value the message omits, record that difference. Do not correct the sheet to match the template you expected.

Support text, a refund policy link, and any extra paragraph are either additional content, footer text, or something the new checkout introduced. Footer text is the text beneath the main body. Placeholders there include the site address and site title. If a support address appears, note whether it is that setting or text that is not in the email settings at all.

Plain-text email is a separate format. WooCommerce says plain-text fields are limited to 155 characters and that long product names can be truncated. A shortened plain-text line is that limit, not automatically a wrong order. HTML and plain text can both be sent in a multipart email, and the recipient's mail program chooses which to show.

What you can sign off

You can decide whether this delivered message matches this order for the fields you compared, and whether a mismatch is in the order, in the template, or in text you cannot find in either. You can ask the person who changed checkout to point to the source of a field that matches neither.

You cannot decide from one matching message that every later order will match. You cannot treat a preview as the buyer's message. The store's processing email is the store's document. A payment-provider receipt is a different document and is not verified by this comparison.

Prism can discuss a checkout change that is producing the wrong order message. Confirm any email-template work separately. A consultation does not establish that the message was delivered. Whether a particular plugin replaced WooCommerce's email is unknown until that plugin's settings or the person who installed it shows the source.

Order and delivered-message comparison

Use one real order placed after the checkout change and the message sent for that order. Leave a row blank if that field is not in either place. Do not type a card number. Worksheet entries are not submitted by this worksheet or saved by this site. Use only non-sensitive summaries; do not enter credentials, government identifiers, card or bank-account numbers, private receipt links, or customer details.

Worksheet entries are not submitted by Prism’s worksheet and are not saved by the site. Use record types, availability, anonymized observations, or match/mismatch results. Do not enter government identifiers, customer names or addresses, customer messages, receipt-access links, card or bank details, passwords, or keys. Send sensitive documents only through the provider’s verified secure channel.

Limits

  • A Prism consultation can help you organize the facts and discuss the website or processing question. The payment provider decides eligibility, pricing, reserves, and whether an account is opened or closed.
  • Email names and placeholders on this page are WooCommerce's. Another store platform needs its own email document.
  • A matching message does not prove inbox delivery, and a missing message on a pending order is not a content error.
  • Do not forward a message that contains a card number, and do not send customer lists through the public consultation form.
