Transitions and provider reviews

When processing or payouts stop with no written notice

Record the first observed interruption, its date and the account or service involved. Compare the buyer-facing behavior with the provider's payment, balance and payout records and the bank's own entry. Check the account's messages and registered email for a notice. If none is found, ask the provider through its official account channel to confirm whether a restriction exists and supply the notice, affected services, stated reason and required action in writing. A missing deposit or failed checkout alone does not establish an account restriction.

For: An owner or authorized representative of a research-only merchant who first notices an interruption in checkout, the provider dashboard or the bank and cannot find a written account notice.

Preserve the discovery before naming the cause

Start with what changed where you first saw it. Record the exact checkout message or dashboard wording, the observation time and time zone, and the provider account you were viewing. Preserve a dated copy in your authorized internal records. The time you discovered the problem is not necessarily the time it began. If an earlier successful event is documented, keep that time separately; otherwise leave the start time unknown.

Check the provider's account messages and the email address registered to that account, including filtered mail. Record where you looked and when. If several brands or accounts exist, confirm that the message and the affected checkout belong to the same one. Write that no notice was found in the channels checked, rather than claiming that the provider never sent one. A dashboard banner may itself contain the missing explanation; preserve its full wording before summarizing it.

Separate the stopped stage from the neighboring stages

Use existing real records to compare checkout behavior, payment results, balance labels, payout entries and bank receipt. A buyer report describes the buyer's experience. A missing payment option or an error can identify a checkout problem without identifying an account decision. A bank statement with no matching credit establishes a missing bank receipt in the period checked; it does not establish that the provider stopped processing cards.

For Stripe, the balances documentation separates pending and available payments balances, a reserve balance and a merchant-set minimum balance. Pending funds normally await settlement before withdrawal, with eligible access options such as Instant Payouts described separately. Those options are not documented remedies for a restriction. Reserve funds cannot be paid out or transferred until the hold period ends. Keep the exact displayed label: an unexplained amount described as held is not enough to classify it as a reserve.

Stripe's payout schedule determines when available funds are sent and does not accelerate settlement. Bank posting may take additional time. If no payout entry exists, record that absence separately from a payout entry that exists but has no matching bank credit. The distinction identifies the record your first inquiry needs; it does not establish the reason for the interruption. Another provider's balance and payout terms must come from that provider.

Ask for the account statement that is missing

Stripe's business-information guidance says it checks identity, what is sold, whether the category can be supported and risk. Unresolved checks can stop processing or transfers, and Stripe says it will tell the merchant if that happens. This is a reason to request the missing explanation on a Stripe account. It is not evidence that an information check caused your particular interruption.

After stating only the dated observations you have, the core request is: Please confirm whether this account has a restriction. If it does, please provide the written notice, identify the affected services and effective time, state the reason and required action, and identify where the notice was sent or posted. If no restriction applies, please explain the recorded interruption. This wording leaves the provider room to correct the premise instead of asking it to confirm an assumed closure or reserve.

Use the provider's own authenticated support route. Stripe's guidance for merchants using Stripe through a platform directs specific questions through the logged-in Dashboard and asks for formatted record identifiers. Copy the identifier from the relevant record rather than constructing one or substituting a customer card number. Keep the request and its case reference together.

Let the written reply determine the next record

A reply confirming a review and paused payouts gives you a review-scope question. A closure notice gives you dates and remaining-account questions. A failed payout gives you a payout trace. If the provider says the account is unrestricted, keep that reply beside the unresolved checkout or bank observation and investigate the stage the records identify. An unanswered request leaves the account explanation unresolved; it does not supply a restriction reason or a restoration date.

For a Prism processing consultation, summarize the website, the observed interruption and the written question still open. The related processing service explains how Prism can discuss the real business and help organize provider questions. Confirm the scope of any requested investigation or follow-up, responsibilities, fees and terms before work. The provider and bank retain control of their account and payout actions.

No-notice discovery record

Complete this from existing observations and records. Add dates and record locations, and mark unknown where evidence is absent. The result should identify the interrupted stage and the missing written explanation. Keep sensitive originals in authorized internal storage; enter only non-sensitive summaries here.

Worksheet entries are not submitted by Prism’s worksheet and are not saved by the site. Use record types, availability, anonymized observations, or match/mismatch results. Do not enter government identifiers, customer names or addresses, customer messages, receipt-access links, card or bank details, passwords, or keys. Send sensitive documents only through the provider’s verified secure channel.

Discovery itemEvidence to preserveHow to interpret itYour record
Checkout behaviorThe actual buyer-facing message, page and observation time; a relevant existing payment result if available.A checkout symptom does not by itself prove that the processing account is restricted.
Payout schedule behaviorThe account's displayed schedule, last relevant payout entry and whether a later entry exists. No entry and an entry awaiting bank receipt are different findings; the schedule does not settle pending funds.
Balance stateThe exact pending, available, reserve, minimum-balance or other label, with currency and date.Use the recorded category. Do not turn an unexplained retained balance into a reserve or a restriction.
Dashboard banner and message searchThe banner wording and date, plus which account messages and registered inbox were checked and when.No notice found describes the search you completed. It does not prove no notice was sent.
Bank-side observationWhether the corresponding credit or return appears, the bank's date and a masked reference or internal record location.A missing credit identifies the bank-side gap; it does not identify the provider's cause.
Request for the written noticeThe request asking whether a restriction exists and, if so, for its notice, scope, reason, effective time and required action.Send factual observations through the provider's authenticated channel; preserve the case reference and reply.
Route after the replyThe service and state the provider confirms, or the precise point still unanswered.Choose the review, closure, failed-payout or checkout investigation from that evidence, not from the initial suspicion.

These are temporary notes. Leaving or reloading this page may clear them. Worksheet entries are not sent automatically. If you copy notes into the consultation message and submit the form, Prism receives them as part of your request.

Limits

  • Stripe documentation describes Stripe; it does not establish another provider's account state or notification process.
  • No notice found, a missing bank credit and a checkout error do not independently prove a restriction or its cause.
  • Do not enter card numbers, security codes, credentials, full bank details or customer records in this worksheet or a public consultation form. A consultation does not guarantee reinstatement, fund recovery or a response date.

Sources

  • Stripe business information requirements — checked 2026-09-21. Unconfirmed identity, business-category and risk checks can interrupt processing or transfers; Stripe says it will notify the merchant. This does not identify the cause on an unseen account.
  • Stripe balances and settlement — checked 2026-09-29. Distinguishes pending and available funds, reserve balances and merchant-set minimum balances. Eligible access to pending funds is described separately; reserve funds remain unavailable until the hold period ends.
  • Stripe payouts — checked 2026-09-29. The schedule sends available funds without accelerating settlement, and bank posting can require additional time. These distinctions do not diagnose a missing payout.
  • Stripe help: getting started through a platform — checked 2026-09-21. For Stripe used through a platform, support questions use the logged-in Dashboard and formatted record identifiers; full card numbers and CVC must not be sent.
  • Prism solutions — checked 2026-09-21. Prism can help organize the business description and provider questions within an agreed scope. Providers and banks control their account and payout actions; scope, fees and terms are discussed before work.
